Eclectic Bathroom

A Bathroom Renovation & Being Thankful for a Messy House

Our house is a hot mess right now and I’m really excited about it. Why, you ask? Because we are in the process of a bathroom renovation. Aw, yeah! SO.EXCITED.

The “Dream Team”,  also known as my husband and his brother, started working on it this week. I call them the Dream Team because they’re really talented and can do pretty much anything. What they are capable of doing always amazes me and especially in such a short period of time. I am so serious when I say they could have their own show. I mean, they’re pretty funny too. People would watch it. Just sayin’.

Anyway, the overall look of the bathroom is going to be light and bright. So we’re using white tile in the shower, a mix of white and neutral tile for the floor and brushed nickel fixtures. Even though we’ve been planning this for a while I’m still undecided on the wall color. So I took to the internet for some inspiration. These are a few of my favorite bathrooms.

I love the subtle pattern of this wallpaper. Or maybe it’s stenciled?

This pale grey wall color is so soft and makes the black and white artwork look so chic and crisp.

This glossy black mirror is such a pretty contrast to those stripes. Love this!

Dark Wall Color in Bathroom

I love a dark wall color and those shiny accents are so glam. That little monogrammed hand towel is adorable! Definitely going to need one of those.

I am so thankful that we are able to have this done. Today is Thanksgiving after all, and I’m thankful for so many things. We are blessed beyond belief. Not just with new bathrooms, but family that takes time for us even when it’s freezing cold. So today, and everyday, I’m thankful for family because that’s what really makes a house a home.

Have a beautiful Thanksgiving!!

Thanks Krista! Thanksgiving was great! Still haven’t decided on a paint color but we’re not quite there yet anyway. You know how that goes, haha. Have a great weekend!

I can’t WAIT till I’m a homeowner and get to have a happy mess like you do :). Gorgeous bathroom inspirations. I have to say.. I’m digging the dark wall. I know for sure I’ll have black walls somewhere in my future home, and I’m thinking the bathroom is a great place to have them. I imagine the darkness would make the intimate space more intimate lol! I’m so excited to see how your bathroom turns out!!

Hi Amy! I’m loving the dark wall too but I’m wondering if it’s better to go lighter since we plan to sell at some point. Being a homeowner is a great but sometimes I miss the days when I could just call the rental manager when we needed some thing fixed….lol.

Hi, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment over at my blog (scrapality.com) I thought I would stop by and see what you’re up to. I love the striped walls on photo three and the mirror on the last photo is to die for. Love it! Thanks again for stopping by.

I have had some crazy wants on how to do my main, but very tiny bathroom…. and I have narrowed it down to white with white and cream ……… then any towels and stuff I get will work. I have rented many years and years ago and all white was and still is the winner with me. I want the shiny, glittery, metallic paints from Martha Stewart…….. but they don’t hold up in a full bath and then too….. you will get tired of them quickly. NOTHING to me, like a white paillet for all seasons.

Hi Sheryll! You are so right about a white pallet, you just can’t go wrong. And I love those Martha Stewart paints too but they are usually best kept to accents rather than whole walls, in my opinion.

      Thanks for stopping in!
