A couple of weeks ago I went for a quick after-work-run-through at TJ Maxx, which is my happy place. You too? Well I came across a basket of gift bags in the most too-die-for patterns and colors. I was so happy to see one of my favorite color combos, coral and gold. And they were on clearance. Say what? When I see that red tag my brain goes “Cha-Ching”! I grabbed four of my favorites knowing they would make the cutest gallery of prints to use as wall art.
The other event that made me totally giddy this week was the arrival of our new dining chairs. I’ve been slowly making changes to our dining area and I recently replaced our grey and white table with a walnut pedestal table that was a much better fit for our space. I painted our existing chairs white thinking they would work and I would love the whole high contrast look. They worked but they just weren’t doing the table justice. Plus, I was just a little tired of them. So I decided, forget that noise! I sold the old table and chairs and used my funds to get something new. I had envisioned some really pretty upholstered chairs in a grey fabric with a tufted back. Then I remembered that we have two cats who love to destroy things with their razor like claws. So after a little searching I decided on these ghost chairs. Best. Decision. Ever.
I’ve always liked this style but never really considered it as a dining chair. Now, I’m so glad I did. Not only do they update the space but the whole area looks roomier since they provide more visual space. And I so love that we can see the pretty pedestal base now.
This space is just feeling so much more open and is so much more functional for us. Plus, I’m loving that I was able to easily add some fun pattern and color. It’s all coming together. Don’t you just love it when that happens?
